Stock Doctor is built around core Merchandising principles – getting the right stock in the right place at the right time.

It’s all about understanding what is performing and you need more of, and what is not performing that you need to pull back on.

Stock is the biggest expense in most product businesses.  Managing it more effectively has a profound impact on sales and profit.

What we’ve seen is that the average result for clients who complete six months with Stock Doctor is that their sales are up 10% compared to where they were tracking before, and stock is -10%.

More sales and less stock = faster turning stock, which is more profitable and results in a better cash flow.  In other words, they do more with less which brings in more money through sales, all while spending less money on stock.

All of this has resulted in an average of £5K more profit per £100K of revenue, even after the cost of the programme is taken into account.  And most importantly, this is all done with minimal time requirement from the founder.  Someone else spends the time to get into the nitty gritty of the stock situation and pulls out what you need to know.  No guess work, just clear direction.

The short answer is yes, Stock Doctor relies on data, so you will need to have an EPOS system to make the investment worthwhile.

The only way it would work without one is if you have very detailed manual records in a spreadsheet.  But ideally you’d have some kind of system the Stock Doctor could access to get your data.

Your Stock Doctor journey begins with a Stock Strategy session.  The Stock Strategy Session is a one-off, expert-led deep dive into your stock and sales, designed to uncover hidden profit and show you exactly what to fix, fast. It’s like having a retail strategist sit beside you and say, “Here’s what’s working, here’s what’s wasting money, and here’s what to do next.”

The strategy session is £750 plus VAT for businesses with turnover up to £500K per year, and £1490 plus VAT for those over.

Ongoing support, with monthly sessions, is £390 plus VAT a month, with a minimum sign up period of 6 months for businesses with turnovers up to £500k per year.  For those £500K to £1 million, the cost is £760 plus VAT a month.

While there is an upfront cost, the average results we achieve for customers over 6 months actually make the service pay for itself.   People typically add £5K of profit per £100K of revenue, even after the cost of the programme is taken into account.  As one client said “It’s the best money I spend in my business each month”

 

A call is really a chance for us to get to know more about you and what you need.

It’s very informal, and usually follows the following format:

  • We’ll ask you some questions about where you are right now and what you would like support with.
  • If we can help, we’ll tell you about the appropriate solution and what the next steps would be.

The Stock Doctor process starts with a stock strategy package.  Usually, depending on availability, we can deliver this within 2-3 weeks.

After that we can work with you for an initial period of six months to create the documents that you need, and then to give you ongoing support in using them to make real changes in your business.

If you want us to support you past the six months stage, we can do that too!
